Will solar keep the lights on during an outage?

Standard grid-connected solar usually shuts down during an outage. A compatible battery and backup configuration can support selected loads. Your electrical design determines what can run and for how long.

How are savings estimated?

Using your utility bills, tariff, demand profile, roof layout, equipment assumptions and project costs. Any tax incentives need a separate eligibility review. We do not turn a roof-size estimate into a guaranteed savings claim.

Solar Black Belt is an independent energy-education and project-assessment site associated with Coastal Energy projects. It provides educational content, interactive planning concepts and a way to request an assessment. Using the site does not create an installer, contractor or engineering relationship.

Concepts are not engineering

Rooftop layouts, panel counts, coverage percentages, 3D scenes and photo overlays are illustrative concepts built from the inputs you supply. They do not measure slope, shade, structural capacity or code compliance, and they are not an equipment schedule. Calculators, including the commercial financial dashboard, produce scenario arithmetic from the numbers you enter — not tax, legal, accounting or engineering advice.
